A man identified as Fatai Bolaji has been crushed to death by a train in Ikeja area of Lagos State at about 9.00 a.m. today.
He was suspected to be listening to music with his ear-piece blocking his ears as he walked on the rail between Ile-Zik and the railway crossing at Ikeja when he was crushed.
Eyewitnesses told The Next Edition correspondent that he appeared not to have heard the blaring horn of the train as it approached.
Efforts to get him off the rail by those who shouted to call his attention to the oncoming train were unsuccessful.
The train was coming from the Agege end of the rail line towards Ikeja.
The Next Edition gathered from a lady who claimed to be a relative of the deceased who was present at the scene that Bolaji was about 40 years old and married with three kids.
He was said to be living in Sango area of Ogun State.
Spotting a white shirt with black spots and a black trousers to match, he had a lap top tucked in his bag.
The laptop was found pulverized on the ground.
As at the time of filing this report, LASAMBUS, the Lagos State Ambulance service was on hand to pick his corpse.
Present at the scene were policemen, men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA and several onlookers.
