A man conveying firearms to Benue State has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Jigawa State.
Identified as Salisu Mahmuda he was arrested with three locally fabricated firearms.
According to the Deputy Commander of NDLEA in Jigawa State, Oko Micheal, the suspect was arrested in the state on February 4 during a routine operation around Jahun – Gujungu Road.
The suspect who claimed to collect discarded metals between the state and Benue was said to have confessed that a Tiv man and another Fulani man ordered the firearms.
He said he was linked by his schoolmate in Nasarawa to a man who manufactured the arms at Labara Village in Kano.
NDLEA in Jigawa has however said the suspect would be handed over to the police for necessary action.
