The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 133 new COVID-19 infections from eight states and Abuja.

The cases recorded in the last 24 hours have raised the total number of infections across the country to 61,440.

According to the health agency, two COVID-19-related deaths were recorded on the fay in review bringing the total fatalities to 56, 661.

The NCDC made known the latest results via a post on its website

The post read: “On the 18th of October 2020, 133 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 61440 cases have been confirmed, 56611 cases have been discharged and 1125 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 133 new cases are reported from 9 states- Lagos (90), Rivers (13), FCT (8), Kaduna (8), Oyo (6), Ondo (3), Katsina (2), Nasarawa (2), Plateau (1).”
