The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has announced that it would commence a warning strike in protest over government’s refusal to adopt a new minimum wage for workers.
NLC had warned the government that it would embark on a strike if, within 14 days, it did not meet its ultimatum on the new minimum wage.
The 14 days warning expires on Wednesday.
The government, however, is yet to make its position known.

The NLC announced that it would commence the strike on Wednesday in a statement issued its General Secretary, Peter Ozo-Eson.
His words: “Representatives of organized labour, after due consultation and meetings, have therefore agreed that all unions and our civil society allies should embark on a warning strike from midnight of Wednesday, 26th September, 2018.
“All affiliates and state councils are therefore expected to mobilise their members nationwide to ensure total compliance.”
