Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, could not testify in the case of financial misappropriation against Olisa Metuh, former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday.
The reason for his inability to testify, according to his lawyer, Ahmed Raji, was due to loss of memory.
Raji argued that having been in detention since 2015, Dasuki needed to consult some documents to be able to testify.
The documents, he said, would be needed to “refresh his memory of any decisions or actions he took or authorised in the course of his duties.”
Raji therefore appealed to the court to give his client some time pending the determination of his appeal in the case.

Metuh’s counsel, Emeka Etiaba, supported Raji in his plea.
It would be recalled that Metuh requested the appearance of Sambo Dasuki and former President Goodluck Jonathan as witnesses in his case.
Metuh is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for diversion of N400 million received from the office of Dasuki when he was the NSA.
Jonathan has however given a condition for his appearance.
He said Metuh should pay him the sum of N1 billion for logistics and travelling expenses for himself and his security personnel from Otuoke, his hometown in Bayelsa State.
