Friday Asuquo, a 27-year-old man in Enu-Orji village of Amawbia in Anambra State, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to kill his friend with pump action rifle over a N1,000 debt.
According to Haruna Mohammed, Superintendent of Police (SP), the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the suspect had a misunderstanding with his friend, Kingsley Araino, also of same age and address.
According to him, following a quarrel over the said debt, the suspect rushed inside one City of Restoration Chuh in Amawbia and brought out a pump action gun loaded with four live cartridges and allegedly shot the victim at his back.

He explained that on July 17, 2020 at about 11.45a.m, “The police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested Friday Asuquo, aged 27 years of Oron, but resides at Enu-orji village, Amawbia in Anambra State.
“The police detectives, who visited the scene, rushed the victim to Amaku General Hospital, Awka, for medical attention and he is responding to treatment.”
Meanwhile, the pump action gun used to commit the crime, three live cartridges and one expended cartridge, were recovered as exhibits.
