A 36-year-old man, Owuye Oluwafemi, was on Tuesday brought before a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl (name withheld).
Oluwafemi, whose address was not stated, was arraigned on a three-count charge of indecent assault, sexual assault and breach of peace.

According to the prosecutor, Olufemi did penetrate sexually with his right finger the vagina of the 5-year-old, without her consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
