The Federal Government has again reiterated its resolve to effecting the release of Leah Sharibu, the remaining kidnapped Dapchi schoolgirl and two aid workers still in the hands of their kidnappers.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who led a three-member delegation to the family of Leah Sharibu in Dapchi, Yobe, gave the assurance on Friday during the visit.
The delegation was also in Borno State in respect of the aid workers.
The delegation, which also included the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, who also oversees Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,
Hajiya Abba Ibrahim, met with Mrs. Rebecca Sharibu, Mother of Leah, as well as other members of their family at an emotion-laden ceremony.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, the leader of the delegation, Mohammed, said that President Muhammadu Buhari had sent them as a follow-up to his phone call to Leah’s mother a few days ago.
He stressed that the “government will not rest until Leah has been reunited with her family.”

The statement disclosed that “excited students of the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, trooped out to welcome us” when the chopper that ferried them to Dapchi landed in the school premises.
The statement further disclosed that the delegation also met with the families of the aid workers who were abducted in March and reassured them of Government’s efforts to ensure freedom for the remaining two.
At the meeting, which was said to have taken place at the Government House, Borno, Mohammed condoled with the parents of the third aid worker, Saifura Hussaini Ahmed, who was killed by her abductors last month.
Receiving the delegation, Deputy Governor of Borno, Alhaji Usman Durkwa, thanked the President for sending the delegation to the state.
