A member of Kebbi House of Assembly, Umar Hassan-Ambursa, in collaboration with an NGO, EMJAY Global Solutions, has trained no fewer than 650 young men and women on different skills to address unemployment in his constituency.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Hassan-Ambursa represents Birnin Kebbi South constituency in the state assembly.
The training, which had 400 men and 250 women from the eight wards of the constituency, was held in Ambursa, Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, on Tuesday.
Hassan-Ambursa said the training was part of his constituency project, aimed at making the beneficiaries self-employed.
He disclosed that 250 women were trained on different skills such as soap, cream and perfume making, as well as catering among others, while 400 youths were currently undergoing training in computer literacy.

“This training is spread across eight wards of my constituency, 50 youths from each ward, while the second batch is also coming up after graduation ceremony of this first batch.
“It might interest you to note that I also provided solar powered water pumps to the eight wards and also renovated schools, health centres among other human capacity development,” he said.
In his remarks, Alhaji Jamil Magaji, Chief Executive Officer, EMJAY Global Solutions, said the training will transform the lives of the beneficiaries to become self-reliant.
He urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity availed them to become better persons in the society.
