Lai Mohammed, Fayemi, Obi, others for Global Patriot Newspapers lecture

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State; former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi and Lagos based lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, are among the prominent personalities expected at the Anniversary Lecture/Awards Ceremony of Global Patriot Newspapers.

The event holds in Lagos on Thursday at 4Points by Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 10 a.m.

A statement issued by the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the online newspaper, Simon Ibe, said other leading personalities are billed to grace the event.

They include Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu; Group Chairman of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi; former Governor of Abia State, Senator T.A. Orji; Special Adviser (Media & Publicity) to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina and a chieftain of the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Mr. Yinka Odumakin.

Equally expected at the event are former Minister of Works, Senator Sanusi Daggash; former Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Professor Rufai Alkali; United States of America-based Pastor Ghandi Olaoye; Pastor Ola Olukoyede and Are-Ona Kakanfo-designate, Otunba Gani Adams.

At the lecture to be chaired by foremost Pharmacist, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, the key issues of patriotism, the vast untapped potentials of Nigeria and the nagging question of national development will be x-rayed.

The programme, Ibe said, is expected to bring to the front burner of national discourse, the connection between patriotism, which presently seems in short supply.

The theme of the lecture is “Patriotism, Untapped Potentials and National Development.”
