Two officers of the Lagos State Task Force have been dismissed after being caught stealing mobile phones during a recent raid in Gowon Estate, Lagos.

The raid, which targeted a hotel notorious for harboring drug users and traffickers, resulted in several arrests.

However, the integrity of the operation was compromised by the actions of the two officers, Fatai Yusuf (42) and Hammed Garuba (38), who were seen stealing phones at the scene. Their misconduct was captured on CCTV footage.

Following a thorough investigation by the agency’s Disciplinary Committee, both officers were found guilty and promptly dismissed. They will also face prosecution for theft.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, condemned the officers’ actions, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to integrity and accountability.

Akerele also warned that any breach of conduct by personnel would result in severe consequences.

The Task Force reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline, equity, and justice, ensuring that any misconduct that erodes public trust would be decisively addressed.
