The Lagos State government will be closing down Ilupeju and Ogunmokun Level Crossing for the laying of new rail track in the area.
A statement made available to The NEXT EDITION from the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, stated that Ilupeju Level Crossing would be closed down on Sunday March 22 from 6p.m. to 6a.m; Monday March 23 from 6p.m to 6a.m and Tuesday March 24.
In the same vein, Ogunmokun Level Crossing would be closed down on Thursday March 26 from 6a.m to 6p.m of same day.
Alternative routes had been provided for road users to utilise during the course of the closure.

Motorists plying Ilupeju axis on the allotted days for construction works would be diverted to Ogunmokun Crossing to access Mushin Road, Oshodi and Surulere, and subsequently, when Ogunmokun would be closed, Ilupeju Level Crossing would be opened for use.
Other alternative routes included Yaba Crossing and Jibowu.
The closure had been slated at this time, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of work on the rail tracks, while the government advised road users to comply with the Traffic diversions to minimise inconveniences in movements.
“Lagos State Government is hereby appealing to residents of the State, especially motorists that ply these corridors to bear the pains, as the project is aimed at achieving a seamless multi modal transport system that will meet the transportation needs of the larger populace,” the statement stressed.
