The Lagos State Chairman of Action Democratic Party, ADP, Mr. Adewale Bolaji, has disclosed that the party would organise a direct primary to choose its flag bearers in the 2019 general elections.
“We are getting set for our direct primaries according to the constitutional provision of the party,” he said.
According to Bolaji, the party has only one governorship aspirant in the person of Babatunde Gbadamosi who would go through the primary in line with the party’s constitution.
His words: “Though we have only one governorship aspirant in the state, he would be subjected to a direct primary which is what the constitution of the party says.”
Being relatively new in the state, the chairman disclosed that it is working to avoid acrimony.
He disclosed that the people of Lagos are tired of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in the state and believe that 2019 general election presents a clear opportunity to dethrone the party in the state.

According to him, “The people of Lagos State are with us in ADP and with the present political situation, ADP stands the best chance to win the next governorship election.”
He lamented that for a long time, despite the available resources, in the state, the APC-led administration had not made life in Lagos better.
He said his party was determined to provide a credible alternative to APC in Lagos.
Bolaji who described ADP a crisis-free party in the state, urged the people of Lagos to see the party as the only one to redeem the state from years of mal-administration.
