With less than one year to the governorship election in Kogi State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state believes it would win the next election and return to Lugard House.

A governorship aspirant on the platform of party, Hon, Simeon Maha said the party has been repositioned to chase the All Progressives Congress, APC, away and return to power in 2019.

According to him, “It is regrettable that we lost the last election, however, the defeat has made us to restrategise for a better outing come November 2019.”

Maha disclosed that he was moved to contest the next governorship election due to absence of good governance in the state.

“The state of under development in Kogi State should propel anyone that has developmental agenda to throw his hat into the ring and salvage the situation.

“Kogi people have seen the difference of things between when PDP was in power and the present APC government in the state.”

He believes that if he clinches the flag of the party, he would defeat APC candidate because of his position as a grass root politician in the state.

“Having served as a chairman of local government in the state, I understand the need of the people and the people believe in what I can do if given the opportunity.”

The governorship aspirant further stressed that Kogi is economically bleeding which only the people who understand and has the experience can salvage.”

“The state is strategically located to be economic hub of the country; it takes somebody who understands and has the experience to tap into the abundance natural resources there.”
