Governor Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano State on Friday said his state would not need the intervention of the newly set up Northern region security outfit ‘Operation Shege Ka Fasa’ to maintain peace and security.
Recall that the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) last Wednesday floated a security outfit which they said would help tackle the security challenges facing the region.
However, speaking with State House Correspondents after a courtesy visit on President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Ganduje noted that the Kano State Government had invested so much in security at various levels that it would not be necessary to consider external arrangements.

Ganduje, who led a contingent of Kano State eminent personalities on the visit made bold to say that the state’s security architecture had turned Kano into a trap for criminals.
According to him, the state provides conducive environment for the security agencies to operate, pointing out that a Command and Control Centre was established where security agencies communicate with one another.
He also disclosed that the state has constructed an army training Centre at Falgore, which he said is the biggest forest in the country, stressing that about N500 million had been committed to the project.
Ganduje further said his administration’s free and compulsory education from basic to secondary levels was already addressing the dual problem of mass out of school children and early girl child marriage.
