Palpable fear has gripped residents of Gyado Villa, in Makurdi town, Benue state, following the killing of a female student by unknown gunmen in the area.
The Next Edition correspondent gathered that a young lady identified as Jessica Agee, a student with Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen.
The incident took place Monday night, at her Gyado villa residence in Makurdi.

As at the time of filing this report, the reason for the act was still unknown.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benue State Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene has confirmed the incident.
Anene said the corpse has been deposited at the morgue while investigation is in progress.
