The Shoprite outlet along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos has been partially shut down by angry protesters, who stormed the place on Tuesday.
The protesters, largely made up of young Nigerians, chanted songs of solidarity as they made their way into the place.
Reports say few of them gained entry into the popular Mall, where they destroyed things and attacked officials.
However, the arrival of heavily-armed security personnel put paid to further destruction in the Mall.
The angry mob has, however refused to vacate the vicinity of the Mall in spite of the presence of the armed security men creating tension in the area.
Their action is in response to ongoing attacks on Nigerians and other African migrants in South Africa which began since August 28.
