The Benue State Police Command has rescued the Chief Executive Director of Tito Group of Companies, Mr. Isaac Akinkunmi after three days in captivity.

Mr. Akinkunmi was kidnapped from his Makurdi residence at about 12:30 a.m last Friday.

He was released on Monday at about 0100hrs and has since been reunited with his family.

The State Commissioner of Police, Garba Mukaddas who disclosed this on Monday said the police also arrested some suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relation Officer, Catherine Anene, said “As part of efforts to rescue Chief Isaac Akinkunmi from his abductors and apprehend the kidnappers, the Command deployed a team of investigators to rescue the captive.”

He said during the investigation, five suspects were arrested in connection with the case while one locally made pistol loaded with six rounds of ammunition was recovered from them.

The CP condemned the kidnap and assured friends and family members of the victim that the perpetrators will be brought to book.

He also urged members of the public who have information about criminals in Benue states to avail same information to the police for ease of investigation and the safety of the state.
