The Abuja Court of Appeal has reduced the jail term for former governor, Joshua Dariye to 10 years.
The former Plateau State governor had been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment in June by an Abuja High court sitting at Gudu.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had arraigned him before Justice Adebukola Banjoko on a 23 count charge of fraud to the tune of N1. 126billion.
The Senator who was representing Plateau Central at the time of trial, pleaded not guilty to the charges, but was found guilty on 15 out of the 23 charges.

He was subsequently sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for criminal breach of trust and two years for misappropriation of public funds.
Reading the judgment in Dariye’s appeal on Friday, the presiding judge, Justice Stephen Adah also quashed the governor’s conviction in two of the 15-counts charges against the senator.
Dariye who governed Plateau from 1999 to 2007 is already serving his jail sentence at the Kuje Prisons, Abuja.
