Controversial Kogi Senator, Dino Melaye has described the impeachment of the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr. Simon Achuba as “constitutional vandalism.”
Recall that Achuba was removed from office on Friday by the State House of Assembly during plenary.
His removal allegedly followed the recommendations of a judicial panel of inquiry set up by the State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah, to investigate the allegations of gross misconduct leveled against him.

Reacting to Achuba’s removal in a tweet on Saturday, Senator Melaye, representing Kogi West also described the action of the house as an illegality.
His tweet read: “Illegal removal of Kogi Deputy Governor by the carry go House of Assembly after a clean bill of health by the panel is constitutional vandalism. Sen. Dino Melaye”
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has picked his running mate for the November 16, governorship election in the state, Edward Onoja, as replacement for Achuba.
