Adamu relayed the order in a Wireless Message sent to Zonal AIGs and Command CPs with signal number, CB:4001/DOPS/SPU/FHQ/ABU/VOL./ORDER AND DIRECTIVES.
It said any commander who failed to comply with the directive would “bear the consequences.”
The signal was addressed to all state Commissioners of Police.
Signed by the AIPOL, Protect, Force Headquarters, Abuja, the message partly read: “Any protect personnel found escorting or guarding any VIP with or without a firearm is deemed to be deployed by the commander and the commander will be sanctioned.”
The message directed all withdrawn protection personnel to report to COMPOL commands.
