Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the wife and daughter of the Onojie of Ewatto community in Esan South East local government of Edo state, His Royal Highness Ikhumhen 11.

Reports say that Mrs. Florence Ikhumhen was abducted on Sunday night along with her daughter at their Benin City residence around Jemilla area in Ikpoba-Okha local government area.

The gunmen were said to have shot sporadically into the air before abducting their victims and taking them away in a speed boat through the Ikpoba River.

Spokesman for the Edo police command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident said that investigation was ongoing.
