Former international football star, George Weah, has been sworn in as the President of the Republic of Liberia.
He is the 24th president of the country.
The swearing in which took place at the 35,000 capacity Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, saw Weah take the oath at exactly noon.
Weah is taking over from Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf
No fewer than eight African heads of states were at the occasion.
President Muhammadu Buhari was represented at the occasion by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Weah defeated Vice President Joseph Boakai in a delayed run-off election held on December 26, 2017.
Weah had before the swearing in given the assurance of greater freedom in the country.
He said he would not interfere with the tenants of democracy, especially political dissent.
