The remains of the former Managing Director of the New Nigerian newspapers, Malam Tukur Abdurrahaman, were interred on Friday at Daura, Katsina State.
He died in a private hospital in Abuja on Thursday following a protracted illness.
He was 59 years old and survived by a wife and five children.

His elder brother, Malam Saidu Abdurrahaman, said the family would take “solace in our Creator who gives and takes life.”
He described the late journalist as one unifying force in the family who would be sorely missed.
The Chief Imam of Karkarku, Malam Muhammad Karkarku, performed the burial prayers.
