The Federal Executive Council, FEC, on Thursday approved the 2018 draft budget.
This is in fulfillment of its promise to ensure that the estimate would be ready in October.
It is to be transmitted to the National Assembly for approval.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, made this known to State House correspondents shortly after the FEC meeting.

Although he did not give details of the estimate, he said the council would get in touch with the National Assembly on when the president should submit the document to it for the necessary approval.
This week’s FEC meeting was held on Thursday.
Traditionally, the meeting is held on Wednesday.
It’s shift to Thursday for this week was earlier announced by the Presidency.
