The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello, Monday, declared a dusk to dawn curfew in Bwari Area Council.
The action followed the killing of three persons in clashes between Gbagis and Hausas in the area.
Mr. Bello announced the curfew shortly after a closed-door meeting with leaders of the area council.
The minister is also said to have gone to the area to assess the extent of damages caused by the conflict.
He told reporters that three persons have died as a result of the fighting, adding that the curfew will start from 6 p.m.to 6 a.m. in Bwari township and continue till further notice.
This newspaper learnt rioters prevented firefighters from putting out the fire in the market in the early hours of the day.
however, the firefighters only returned at about 8, pm when heavily-armed security operatives might have been deployed to the area.

By the time they had access to the market, most of the shops and goods had been gutted by fire.
The fighting is believed to have been triggered by the killing of a Gbagi man by his Hausa neighbour on Sunday night.
In revenge, the Gbagis were said to have mobilised on Monday morning and burnt down the Bwari market in the area.
Bwari Market is the biggest in the area council and is said to have more traders of Hausa ethnic extraction than persons from other parts of the country.
A witness, who identified herself as Bombo, told a Premium Times reporter that the area has been embroiled in tension between Hausas and Gbagis for a while.
“The cause of this fight is because a Gbagi man was killed last night. Right now, all the Hausas in this area are running towards Kaduna area because of the fear of getting killed,” she said.
