Explosion rocks Nwodo, Ohanaeze chief’s residence

The residence of the President of the Igbo socio-political group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nwodo, was rocked by an explosion on Sunday.

Findings by the police have shown that the explosive was thrown into the compound by an unknown person.

The explosion was reported to have some broken some parts of the house, but no casualty was recorded.

The spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, disclosed that the investigations were still going on to find out the situation surrounding the incident.

“There was explosion of a minor category. What we are trying to do here is to find out how it occurred.

“Indications from our preliminary inquiry shows it was not planted because the place is fortified. Maybe the person threw in the object from the gate,” he said.
