Former Vice President of Zimbabwe, Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, has been sworn in as the new president of the country.
He was sworn in on Friday by the country’s Chief Justice with all service chiefs making pledges of loyalty.
The ceremony took place in a crowded National Sports Stadium where gun salutes took place.
He was sworn in following the resignation of former president, Robert Mugabe, on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that the nation’s military ended the 37 years reign of Mugabe when it ceased power from him.
