Ekiti guber:  Olusola commends voters, INEC

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the ongoing Ekiti governorship election, Professor Kolapo Olusola, has commended voters for their peaceful conduct.

He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for being prompt.

The PDP candidate who is incidentally the deputy governor of Ekiti State made the remark after voting.

His words:  “I commend our people here for proper conduct and the INEC officials for being prompt.”

The PDP candidate, The Next Edition recalled could not vote earlier owing to the rejection of his Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, by the card reader.

The situation remained until the arrival of the National Commissioner of INEC, Professor Anthonia Taiye, at Ikere-Ekiti, Okeruku Ward, 02 polling unit.

She intervened and Olusola voted.

The INEC commissioner explained that card readers often reject cards whenever the sensitive parts are tampered with
