Olusola challenged the victory of Fayemi at the Ekiti election petition tribunal on Friday

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State, Kolapo Olusola, has challenged the victory of Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

He challenged the victory at the Ekiti election petition tribunal on Friday.

Fayemi, a former governor of the state, and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

While Fayemi recorded 197,459 votes, Olusola polled 178,121 votes.

Olusola has since alleged that the election was fraught with malpractices in favour of Fayemi, and declared the he would go to court to make his case.

It was based on that that he proceeded to the election tribunal where he sought to be declared as the winner of the election.
