Supporters of the All Progressives Congress’ candidate in the July 14, 2018, Ekiti governorship election, Kayode Fayemi, were taken aback on Tuesday as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige “campaigned” for Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Ngige who was addressing the mammoth crowd at the Fayemi campaign rally, held at the Oluyemi Stadium, Ado Ekiti, made the mistake of substituting Fayemi’s name with that of Fayose.

Rather than campaign for Fayemi, he campaigned for Fayose.

Fayose is strongly behind his deputy, Olusola Kolapo, who is the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for the governorship election and Fayemi’s main opponent.

Below is the statement by Chris Ngige in a widely circulated video which can be viewed via The Next Edition  Facebook page.

Said Ngige in the video:  “E go happen on Saturday? Those who wan Saturday to happen raise your hands with your PVC and everything.  Mr President,  the leaders of our party, our people are ready, they are ready and on Saturday it will happen, especially those from the South West for the mistake they made in 2014, so, they won’t make that mistake again. If you marry two wives, you go know which one wey better.

Fayose is the better Wife, E de cook, E de give husband better food, E no de give am trouble, so you must bring back Fayose on Saturday.”
