A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Ondo October election, Mr. Olayide Adelami, has lauded the cordial relationship, deep show of love and tolerance among Christian and Muslim faithful in the state.

Adelami, a former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly in his Eid-el-Fitri message while rejoicing with Muslim faithful in the state and across the nation, urged them to imbibe and put into apt use, the lessons of the Ramadan fast, which centre on love, sacrifice and tolerance.

He said the observance of piety, self-denial, discipline, and love during the Ramadan fast showed  Nigerians could remain a united and peaceful nation irrespective of all daunting challenges.

“I must also not fail to use this festive season to urge leaders of faith in our nation to show more commitment to peaceful co-existence and tolerance.

“We have always lived as one irrespective of our faiths and I want to further urge us not to allow negative developments elsewhere to distort our values such as love, peace and tolerance,” he said.

Adelami reminded Muslims that more prayers were still needed to defeat the raging COVID-19 pandemic that had disrupted normal living.

“As we celebrate, let us remember to stick to Covid-19 preventive measures while praying that Allah helps us to defeat the virus soon.”

The APC chieftain also used the celebration to reiterate his resolve to salvage the state from the present maladministration through exemplary leadership in driving governance that would truly be for the people.

“Insha Allah, the people of Ondo State shall enjoy the dividends of good governance when I assume the mantle of leadership next year,” the governorship hopeful added.
