As part of the Easter programmes a frontline Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Edo State in the forthcoming election, Mr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, has begun a massive delivery of food items for the people of the state.
The initiative, part of a yearly ritual by Ogiemwonyi, was broadened to meet the excruciating pains of the people since the sit-at-home order over the Coronavirus pandemic.
Benin City, the Edo State capital, it would be recalled, had been on partial lockdown, while economic activities had been at its lowest ebb due to the effect of the outbreak of the virus.
Director of Communications of Ogiemwonyi’s political family, Jeffery Igbinigie, said the yearly exercise was expanded to meet up with the demands of the people for food supply.
He said his principal understood the pains and hardship Nigerians had been going through and no effort was too small to ameliorate the plights of the masses.

Igbinijie stressed: “We are aware the extent of damage the Coronavirus has done in our communities. We have been supporting the people with the needful in terms of food items, relief materials, public awareness and a whole lot of other selfless activities.
“We understand that this season calls for both sober reflections and celebrations as well.
“As the people go on a self-discovery of the essence of the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ, it is expedient they also celebrate the victory Christ secured for us all.”
It was already jubilation galore as residents across the three senatorial zones started benefiting from the aspirant’s COVID-19/Easter relief materials.
Igbinije told the people to always remember that Coronavirus was real, even as he urged them to stay safe and stay indoors, adding, “Together, we can curb the spread of the deadly disease.”
