The Federal Government on Friday announced that the lockdown emplaced on some states by President Muhammadu Buhari, as part of measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic continues.
The States are Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this on Friday in Abuja.
He said: “The evaluation of the impact of the restriction order of movement continues as the Presidential Task Force (PTF) will appropriately brief the President shortly and Nigerians will be adequately informed of the decision of Government.”
Meanwhile, Mustapha stated that government was working on incentives, medical and life insurance for medical workers in the frontline of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Giving an update on government’s efforts to curtail the pandemic at the daily Inter ministerial briefing, Mustapha stated that the Chinese medical team in the country would not directly meet or interact with COVID-19 patients while on the visit.
According to him, the Chinese were in the country on a purely advisory mission especially on the protection of frontline health workers and maintenance of the equipment that they have brought and not for capacity building.
He also assured that all members of the visiting Chinese team were undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine in Nigeria before engaging in their primary role of providing guidance on usage and deployment of the equipment.
Mustapha appealed to the states to recognise the seriousness of the COVID-19 situation and synergise with the federal government to win the war.
Speaking further, he disclosed that the PTF was developing a national policy on the use of facemasks and that Nigerians would be duly informed as soon as the policy was finalised.
While commending the frontline healthcare workers for their commitment and sacrifices so far, Mustapha added: “The nation appreciates you and shall do everything possible to protect you.”
