Jireh’Doos Foundation (JDF), a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Benue state has donated cartons of facemasks to Journalists in Benue State.
Making the donations in Makurdi on Wednesday, initiator and Chief Executive of the foundation, Josephine Haba said it was part of their gesture to support newsmen to remain safe as they carry out their duty in the face of COVID-19.
Habba said she was also moved to make the donations as she had noticed that many people use same facemask from Monday to Friday without changing them.

She therefore provided six facemasks for each benefitting Journalist saying they can be used and changed on daily basis and be washed at the weekends.
Receiving the facemasks on behalf of members of the Correspodent Chapel, the Chairman, Mr. Tor Acka thanked Mrs. Habba for her good gestures saying the masks will be put to Judicious use.
The Chairman said she was the first to have extended this form of gesture to newsmen in the state.
Also, Chairman of Government House Press, Mr. Charles Iornumbe who received on behalf of his members also expressed gratitude to Mrs. Habba and prayed God to bless her.
Mr. Iornumbe, therefore, challenged others in position of trust to take a queue from her in complimenting efforts of government at providing relief support to cushion the effects of Covid-19 on Benue citizens.
