The Chairman, Imo COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Maurice Iwu, has assured that contact tracing of active cases is continuing, to ensure they are taken to isolation centres for proper medical examination.
Iwu gave the assurance on Wednesday while briefing journalists on the activities of the task force and the 86 coronavirus cases recorded in the state.
According to him, out of the 86 cases, only 12 are active and receiving treatment in two different locations in the state.

Iwu disclosed that the state has not recorded any COVID-19 related death.
The professor of virology appealed to Imo citizen to always inform the taskforce on suspected cases for immediate action.
He said the committee is monitoring the non-active cases closely.
Also, the taskforce Chairman urged the people to always follow the Nigeria Centre for Disease (NCDC) guidelines on COVID-19 prevention.
