Over 700 persons who returned to Ebonyi State from COVID-19 high risk states are currently in isolation at the State’s isolation centre.
Gov. Dave Umahi who disclosed this on Wednesday said they were rounded up across the state especially at the borders as they tried to enter the state.
Umahi, spoke after a joint Security/Covid-19 Committee meeting in Abakaliki, the State Capital, in a live broadcast to the residents of the state.
According to him, the 700 persons are being isolated at the Pa Oruta Ngele Township Stadium, Abakaliki.

The governor said that anyone who completes the 14 days of isolation without manifesting symptoms of the virus would be allowed to go home.
Speaking on the five confirmed cases in the state, he said they were responding to treatment at the State’s isolation centre at Unity Square Abakaliki.
The governor disclosed that another 300 bed isolation centre built by the state government at Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki was ready and would be handed over to the hospital in a couple of days.
