A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded a 30-year-old earing-impaired man, Temitope Holo, in Awarjigoh correctional facility over alleged defilement of 17-year-old girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, did not take the plea of the defendant.
Adekomaiya directed the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
He, thereafter, adjourned the case till April 2 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendant committed the offenses in July 2024 at No. 18, Oba Beyioku Str., beside Winners’ Chapel, Badagry, Lagos.
Adeosun said that the defendant unlawfully removed the girl’s pant and penetrated her private part with his finger without her consent.
The offences, according to him, contravened Sections 261 and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
