Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, has condemned attempts by the presidency to elevate President Muhammadu Buhari’s relationship with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) above former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s era saying comparing the two was like comparing the living and the dead.
Fani-Kayode’s reaction followed a statement by the presidency, which suggested that Buhari has a better relationship with the leadership of CAN than what obtained during the administration of Obasanjo who referred to the chairman of CAN as an idiot.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina, had said in a statement said that Buhari recently received the CAN Chairman of Plateau State Chapter, Rev. Yakubu Pam whom Obasanjo described as “a total idiot.”
In a series of tweets on Saturday, Fani-Kayode in response said “no CAN Chairman was kidnapped and killed by terrorists under Obasanjo.”
The former Minister using his Twitter handle @realFFK tweeted: “Buhari elevated the CAN Chairman Obasanjo described as a total idiot – Femi Adesina
“No CAN Chairman was kidnapped and killed by terrorists under Obasanjo. No CAN Chairman was ever abducted for ransom by bandits under Obasanjo.
