An NGO, CLEEN Foundation, in collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy and UN Women, has held a two-day training workshop for some stakeholders on gender inclusiveness and equality.
The workshop, themed “Policy Dialogue On State Gender Responsive Frameworks and Practices”, was aimed at advancing the cause of Nigerian women and fostering gender-responsive policies for a more inclusive society.
In her welcome address, Mrs Justina Johnson, Finance Manager, representing CLEEN Foundation’s Executive Director, Gad Peter, reiterated the organization’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by women.
She emphasized the importance of gender-responsive policies in creating a just and equitable society.
According to Peter, the dialogue facilitated insightful discussions, shared valuable experiences and set the course for more inclusive and equitable policy frameworks.
He stressed the critical role of gender equality in sustainable development, social cohesion, and economic prosperity.
Mr. Salaudeen Ibrahim, Director, Programme, spoke on topics such as “Understanding the National Security Strategy,” “Gender Role in the Security Sector” and “Mainstreaming in State Policies and Legal Frameworks.”
He called for more government’s investment in security and food for the country’s safety, addressing various national security threats.
In another presentation on “Cybercrime: State Capacity and Public Safety”, Ibrahim highlighted the rise of cybercrimes in Nigeria and called for government recruitment of expertise in the police force cybercrimes unit.
The stakeholders also engaged in a roadwork to the offices of Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs and Hajiya Rabi Salisu, Commissioner for the Ministry of Human Services and Social Development, Kaduna.
The commissioners expressed support for the NGO’s efforts, assuring that kidnapped children would be brought back home, with Gov. Uba Sani working tirelessly for their safe return.(NAN)
