It would be recalled that following the outbreak of cholera in the North East of Nigeria, the United Nations, through the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund, on Friday in Abuja, donated two million dollars.
UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Mr Edward Kallon, said the donation was made in view of the need to stop the devastating effect of the outbreak of cholera in the area in general.
The UN said it had, along with its partners, activated an immediate emergency response in the affected communities.
