President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his sympathies to victims of Wadata Market fire incident.
Parts of the market located in Makurdi, Benue State, were gutted by fire in the early hours of Wednesday.
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu in Abuja on Thursday, Buhari said he was saddened by the unfortunate incident, noting, “Regardless of our status in life, we are bound by our common humanity and, therefore, I share the pains of the victims with a sincere sense of sympathy and empathy.’’

He prayed God “to replenish their losses and multiply their blessings as they try to pick up their lives once again from the ashes of economic ruins,” even as he commended state government for its the immediate response in trying to bring relief to the victims.
Recall that Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue had on Wednesday, donated N30 million as an interim support to the victims of the fire when he visited the market.
