President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to Nigeria’s international partners and others who have influence on the terrorists group, Boko Haram, to prevail on it to stop its atrocities.
Buhari made the call just as he commiserated with Red Cross over the killing of one of its aid workers, Saifura Khorsa.
Khorsa was kidnapped along with two others by Boko Haram about six months ago at the Rann camp for internally displaced persons.
The terrorists also threatened to harm Leah Sharibu, who is the only girl remaining among the over 100 school girls captured in Dapchi, Yobe State, earlier in the year.
In a statement, Red Cross called on the terrorists group to release the women still in its custody.
Reacting to the killing, Buhari, in a statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu, described the action of the terrorists as inhuman.
He called for an end to “these acts of extreme barbarism.”

His words: “The government of Nigeria strongly condemns this reprehensible and inhuman act. No religion permits the killing of the innocent.
“Saifura worked for the Red Cross, a humanitarian organisation tirelessly working to bring succour to all the victims of violence irrespective of the sides of the conflict.’’
