President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday ruled out the possibility of a fresh lockdown in the country.
According to him, Nigeria’s economy is too fragile for fresh lockdown due to COVID-19 which is stillravaging parts of Europe.
The President, who took to Twitter to share his thoughts therefore, urged Nigerians to obey all protocols recommended by health authorities to stem the spread of the disease.

Tweeting on his verified handle, the President said everything possible must be done to ensure that the infection rate which has gone down does not rise again.
He wrote: “Looking at the trends in other countries, we must do all we can to avert a second wave of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
“We must make sure that our cases, which have gone down, do not rise again. Our economy is too fragile to bear another round of lockdown,” @MBuhari tweeted.
Recall that the country had gone into a total lockdown in March in the wake of the pandemic for a period of three months before a phased easing of the lockdown began in July.
As of Thursday, October 29, Nigeria has confirmed 62, 371 cases of the virus, 58, 095 have recovered while 1, 139 have died.
