President Muhammadu Buhari has described Sunday’s pipeline explosion at Abule Ado in Amuwo Odofin council area of Lagos State as a tragedy.
Expressing sadness over the loss of lives and property from the explosion which also left many severely injured, the President noted that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was already making efforts to find out the cause of the explosion.

Buhari, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Sunday, commiserated with the victims of the incident, their families, friends and the Lagos State Government.
The statement read in part: “I have received with sadness the news of this unfortunate incident which caused loss of lives and property.
“A misfortune of whatever scale anywhere is a tragedy to the country, and while the NNPC makes efforts to determine the cause of the incident, I send my deepest and profound sympathies to the victims, their families, government and people of Lagos State.”
