President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to blacklist any firm, smuggling or dumping any item among the restricted 43, into the country.
Also to be blacklisted are owners of such firms and their top management.
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this on Friday in Abuja at a meeting with oil palm producers.
According to him, the President also mandated the apex bank to expand and provide support to firms and individuals interested in expanding the production of 10 different commodities in Nigeria.
These include oil palm, poultry, livestock dairy, fish, cassava, rice, tomatoes, maize, cotton and cocoa.
