The Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson, died on Saturday at the age of 72.
The Executive Secretary of Abeokuta Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mines and Agriculture(ABEOCCIMA), AbdulRahman Maku, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
Maku stated that Chief Lawson passed in the early hours of Saturday, adding that the family would announce the burial arrangement later.
The statement read in parts: We regret to announce the demise of NACCIMA past president & ABEOCCIMA Matron/Chairman, Board of Trustees, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, which occurred in the early hours of today, Saturday, 28th October, 2023.”
She was also proprietress of Lawson Group of Schools, Abeokuta.
She was born on January 18, 1951, into the Jiboku family in the Ago-Oko area of Abeokuta.
