After weeks of speculation, former Governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has been elected the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He succeeds Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned last month.
The meeting also elected Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, as the National Secretary.
Ganduje was elected at the 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) Caucus meeting of the ruling party in Abuja on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
Acting National Chairman, Senator Abubakar Kiyari, announced the NEC decision to journalists shortly after the executive session of the committee
He also said that in line with Article 13(2), NEC transferred its powers to NWC to fill other vacant positions in the administrative organ of the party.
