Alhaji Lateef Jakande, former Governor of Lagos State and first President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) is dead.
He reportedly died on Thursday at the age of 91.

Jakande, who was the Governor of Lagos state between October 1, 1979 and December 31, 1983, contributed immensely to the development of Lagos state, the commercial nerve of Nigeria.
