
President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory by one week.
Residents of the states and the FCT are to remain in doors for seven more days till new measures for partial reopening of the areas are put in place by Monday, May 4.
Some of the new measures that will come into effect by May 4 are; curfew between the hours of 8p.m and 6a.m, mandatory wearing of facemasks in public, ban on non-essential inter state travels among others .
President Buhari stated this while addressing the nation on Monday on the coronavirus pandemic in the country and ways to fight it.
